My name is Pamela Jessen and I live in Langford, BC Canada, just outside of Victoria. I am happily married to my amazing husband Ray and we are the proud parents of 2 grown kids and have three wonderful grandsons. We are also owned by one cat named Dorie.

I write about Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Chronic Fatigue and Invisible Illnesses on my blog, as well as other more general topics on occasion.

Additionally, I write for The Mighty, The UnChargeables, PainResource.com, The Zebra Pit and various other independent publications. If you’re interested in having me write for you, please contact me here. I love to do guest posts!

Along with blogging and writing, I am an active volunteer with the Patient Voices Network in BC.  Outside of PVN, I have also done volunteer work for Island Health as a Patient Partner, was a Patient Advisor on the 2017 Canadian Guideline for Opioids for Chronic Non-Cancer Pain, and was a summer volunteer with the Downtown Victoria Business Association’s Busker Festival

I currently sit on the following committees:

  • The Clinical Resource Committee for the BC Emergency Physician’s Network,
  • The Laboratory Quality Council for Vancouver Island, BC
  • The Oversight & Advisory Council for Patient Voices Network
  • The Surgical Care Quality Measurement Group for BC

Additionally, I am a member of the BC Patient-Centred Measurement Blended Survey Consultation Group. I have also taken part as a Patient Advocate for The Canadian Anesthesia Research Priority Setting Partnership and am involved in testing Virtual Telehealth options in BC.

Most recently, I have become a Coaching For Health Counsellor for PainBC.

Passionate about Quality Improvement, I continually seek out educational opportunities to learn and grow.

In my spare time, I love to craft and create, play on the computer, write short stories and poetry and I enjoy reading True Crime and Biographies. I also love answering questions and can be found doing just that at Quora.com

Despite my daily pain, I am living a blessed life.

Thanks for stopping by…it’s good to have you here!
